We're the source of all your problems
PROBLEM CHILD DNA
Founded in Australia in 2026, Problem Child designs custom streetwear for climbers - from young Microsenders learning the ropes (or the boulders!), through to established professional climbers. Our goal is a distinct voice and design language, with a universal appeal.
The Genesis
Problem Child was born in Australia from the search for more progressive and design-centric climbing clothes; the need for a broader range that extended beyond mainstream hoodies and t-shirts. It's typically hard to find climbing clothing that is genuinely high quality, looks good beyond the crag, and doesn’t rely on plastic-heavy fabrics. Founded by a passionate rock climber who lived this problem firsthand, the brand exists to close this gap—bringing together performance, style, and responsibility in equal measure.
At the heart of Problem Child is a strong preference for sustainable organic cotton materials. Where most leading climbing and activewear brands lean heavily on synthetic, plastic‑based fabrics, Problem Child deliberately charts a different course. Organic cotton offers durability, comfort, and breathability, while significantly reducing reliance on petroleum-based fibres. The result is clothing that feels better on the skin, ages gracefully, and aligns with a more thoughtful approach to production.
Design is treated with care and finesse. Every piece is built to move—cut for reach, stretch and long days on the wall—but refined enough to be worn confidently in a smart casual setting. This is clothing that doesn’t shout “technical,” yet quietly performs when it matters most.
Quality underpins every decision, from fabric selection to construction details, ensuring garments are made to last rather than be replaced. Just as important is customer service. Problem Child is a brand that listens, values feedback, and builds long‑term relationships with its customers, not just transactions.
Ultimately, Problem Child reflects its founder: considered, demanding, and deeply invested in doing things properly. It’s a brand for climbers who expect more—better materials, better design, and better experiences—both on and off the rock.
